This 1947 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special is a perfect example of the uncomparable quality and craftsmanship of the Cadillac standard. Being a unrestored vehicle, it goes to show how well this vehicle has been taken care of for the past 78 years.On the inside, you are truly taken back to 1947 with an all original interior. The door panels, seats, carpet, and headliner are orginal and in excellent condition. The back seat is as comfortable as it looks and features a large amount of leg room. All of the guages work properly, as well as the AM radio. The clock however does not function.
The exterior has been professionally refinished in a single stage paint and features body panels that are straight and rust free. All of the chrome is original to the car and in great condition. The undercarriage is solid and has no issues of rust. The 346 flathead has been rebuilt as well as the hydra-matic transmission. Because of its reliabilty and power, this engine and transmission was sent to war during WWII. They were installed in over ten thousand Cadillac-built tanks and featured two engines per tank.
Cadillac produced 8,500 fleetwood 60's in 1947. The number of survivors in this condition after 78 years would be scarce. This is a museum worthy vehicle that deserves a home where its orginality is appreciated. The remarkable condition and reliable powertrain of this vehicle would be an excellent addition to anyone's collection.
